As a well-established advocate with decades of work under her belt, Robyn has many causes that are near and dear to her heart. Here find just a few that she is proud to be a part of.
Advocacy
MassEquality
Robyn served on the Board of MassEquality for 12 years. She remains active in an advisory role and as a volunteer and donor.
This grassroots advocacy organization focuses on the legal rights and protections of LGBTQ+ individuals in the state of Massachusetts. Among their many accomplishments, MassEquality has:
Endorsed pro-LGBTQ candidates who won their races
Passed (and continue to defend) statewide transgender nondiscrimination protections
Passed statewide anti-bullying protections for LGBTQ students
Secured the creation of the nation’s first statewide commissions to address issues facing homeless LGBTQ youth and older LGBTQ adults
Helped to improve prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS through passage of legislation streamlining HIV/AIDS testing
Bi Women Quarterly
Bi Women Quarterly is the longest-running publication for bisexual+ women in the world! Robyn co-founded this grassroots publication in 1983 and has been editor since 2009. Each quarterly issue features artwork, essays, poems, reviews, research, and fiction centered around a theme chosen by Robyn and BWQ’s editorial team. Past themes include: “Bi+ Spaces,” “Mixed Marriages,” “Faith and Spirit,” “The Bi*-Trans* Connection,” and “Bisexual Enough?” Originally a local newsletter, BWQ is now a global publication.
Animal Rescue
Robyn and her wife, Peg got involved in rescuing animals from the Gulf Coast region after it was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Though quite a few years have passed, there is always a great need for adoptive homes and donations.
Spay and neuter your pets, donate to your local shelters if you can, and find out more about helping animals at:

Campus Advocacy
For 26 years, Robyn worked as an administrator at Harvard University where she was co-Founder and Co-Chair of the LGBT Faculty and Staff Group; an active member of the Trans Task Force; co-Founder and Facilitator of LGBTQ Lunches, a monthly lunch series for lesbian, bi, queer and trans women faculty and staff; and Faculty Adviser to Harvard’s undergraduate student LGBTQ+ organization.
For more than a decade, Robyn has been touring college and university campuses where she not only presents keynotes, lectures and workshops, but helps students, faculty, and staff in their LGBTQ+ advocacy and organizing efforts. She is also deeply involved in Campus Pride, a national nonprofit organization for student leaders and campus groups working to create a safer college environment for LGBTQ students. At the annual Campus Pride and Advisor Academy in summer 2017, Robyn was honored with the Voice and Action Award in recognition of her tireless commitment to inspiring change on campuses across the country.
